The persistent rainfall over the past few weeks has made it impossible to carry out the planned improvement works along the entire dirt road heading north from the arena. For the comfort and safety of all attendees, the Organisation has decided to implement the following changes to the parking and access arrangements for Arena Mira Norte:

• The first 500 metres of the dirt road are reserved exclusively for caravans.
• Overnight stays by motorhomes on this dirt road remain permitted.

New procedure for caravan parking:

• Upon reaching the junction, caravans will be directed onto the dirt road heading north.

• Parking must be carried out along the dirt road (on one side only), following the instructions of the Organisation.

• When leaving the parking area, caravans must turn around and head south back to the junction. Upon reaching the junction, they must turn left (towards the east).

The weather forecast for POM 2026 is now looking very promising, and our best hopes may well become reality.

On Friday, we expect very light rain throughout the day, accompanied by some wind. On Saturday, the rain should clear for the entire duration of POM, and the wind is forecast to gradually ease during the afternoon.

The Mira Norte Arena is well sheltered from winds coming off the sea, so conditions there are typically calmer than along the beach.

Sunday is expected to bring almost wind-free conditions and no rain, although low cloud may remain over the Arena. Monday is forecast to follow a similar pattern to Sunday.

By Tuesday, we may even see some sunshine, as the higher cloud cover is expected to clear.

Temperatures are forecast to rise gradually day by day.

The start lists for the PreO Sprint is now online.

PreO Sprint athletes must wear the bib number indicated in the list , even if it is the same bib used in the Middle Distance GOLD WRE stage.

All athletes are requested to arrive at Praia de Mira in good time in order to complete their warm-up and start their competition at the scheduled time.

Whenever possible, some start times may be brought forward.

Elite athletes who will compete in the Middle Distance GOLD WRE stage and who are delayed due to a later start or attendance at the prize-giving ceremony will be accommodated. The organisation will wait for your arrival until the closure of the PreO Sprint start window.

The POM Event Center is open from today at 10:00 at the Museu dos Palheiros, in Praia de Mira.

Over the coming days, you will be able to collect your bibs, pick up maps for the Model Event and training sessions, resolve any issues and obtain all necessary information.
