CPOC (Clube Português de Orientação e Corrida) together with GDINE (Grupo Desportivo do Instituto Nacional de Estatística) and some of the best portuguese orienteering organizers, will bring to life Portugal “O” Meeting 2021, that will be held, for the first time, in Lisbon.
The Organizing Team is preparing an entertaining and ambitious event that will take participants to 3 different municipalities (Lisboa, Cascais and Oeiras) and it will be included in Lisbon European Capital of Sports in 2021, being it’s most important event on open spaces activities.
Portugal “O” Meeting is a foot orienteering competition, with candidate stages to include International Orienteering Federation Rankings (IOF), in the forest (Monsanto) and sprint (Alfama) rankings but also with 4 stages counting for the Portuguese Orienteering Federation Ranking (FPO). It is an open event to people from all ages, with individual competition classes and open classes, held individually or in groups.
The 2021 edition will gather 3 different competitions: the major competition with 4 stages (3 forest stages and Alfama), the second na urban competition (3 stages also including Alfama) and the third with a stage for trail orienteering.
Lisboa invites all lovers of Orienteering to run in some of its best spots and to get to know a little better one of the most visited capitals of the world, and we invite also those who don’t know our sport that well but will like to give it a try on this 2021 edition of the best portuguese event.
